As climate change worsens, I imagine a future for the Pacific Northwest where we honor the original peoples, and practice Indigenous architecture and land care in order to restore land justice and restore a brighter future for all inhabiting the Pacific Northwest. In my design, I layer timelines including the past, present and future. These timelines can be seen through the motherland figures that lay in the forefront of the image. Within the figures, the audience can see how the landscape has changed, including industrialization and the future of a landscape that interweaves Indigenous architecture as a way to honor the land and create a safer future for next generations. This is demonstrated by the way buildings and structure blend in seemlessly with the nature. I see a future for the Pacific Northwest where architecture and way of living lives in harmony with the natural landscape.
